INCLEMENT WEATHER MEETING CANCELLATION POLICY
The March meeting of the Downtown Special Services District (SSD) is scheduled for Wed. March 7 at 8AM at Work_Space, 901-903 Main St. In the event of inclement weather the SSD meeting cancellation policy is as follows: If Manchester Public Schools are cancelled due to inclement weather the meeting will be canceled and a new meeting date will be set. If Manchester Public Schools are delayed, the meeting will go on as scheduled.

The Downtown Manchester Special Services District, located in Manchester, CT, will receive sealed bids in the Office of the Downtown Manchester Special Services District, 983 Main Street, Suite 10, Manchester, CT, until 11:00 AM on Monday, March 12, 2018 for the following:
CONTRACT PARKING LOT AND PUBLIC AREA MAINTENANCE
AND LANDSCAPE SERVICES.
A mandatory walk through of the service areas will take place on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at 10 AM with a rain date of Friday, March 9, 2018 at 10 AM. Prospective bidders should meet at the Downtown District Office, 983 Main St. Suite 10, Manchester, CT.

Press Release: Road Race Saturday In Downtown Manchester
ROAD RACE SATURDAY IN DOWNTOWN MANCHESTER
NOV. 18, 2017 FROM 10AM TO 2PM
Manchester, CT After the Little Manchester Road Race ends the fun continues in Downtown Manchester!
Downtown Manchester will hold its first Road Race Saturday celebration on Saturday, Nov. 18 from, 10AM to 2PM on the day of the Little Manchester Road Race.
1,000 children will participate in the Little Manchester Road Race in Charter Oak Park on Nov. 18th. They will be cheered-on by 1,500 adults. The historic town center of Downtown Manchester is just a short walk from the Race site. The Downtown District, in cooperation with the Manchester Road Race, has planned am a variety of fun, post-race activities that are easily accessible to Race participants.
Attendees can follow colorful turkey footprints along the Main Street sidewalks to participating businesses.
Turkey costume characters will stroll Main Street offering opportunities for photo ops.
Free face painting for kids will be offered at Silk City Coffee, 763 Main St. and Beauty by Dezign, 24 Birch St.
Additional costume characters will greet attendees at Beauty 911 Skin Lounge, 41 Purnell Place.
Four Downtown restaurants will offer “Bib” specials for children who present their Little Manchester Road Race “Bib”. They include:
–Mulberry Street, 981-985 Main St. – 11:30 to 2 – fried dough sampling and how to make a vegetable animal demo
–Lucky Taco , 829 Main St. – 11 to 2 – mini taco sampling and surprise activity
–Filomena’s, 775 Main St., – 11 to 2 – mini cannoli sampling
–Corey’s Catsup & Mustard, 623 Main St., 11:30 to 2 – free lunch for child runners
–Antonio’s Pizza Restaurant, 832 Main St., 11 to 2 – slice of cheese pizza & a can of soda or bottle of water for $2.95 plus tax
Leading up to and concluding on Road Race Saturday is a Downtown Window Scavenger Hunt. Beginning Nov. 6th colorful silhouettes of child runners have been placed in storefront windows along Main St. from School St. to Brainard Place. Participants can count the number of runners and enter their count by going to: downtownmanchester.org/scavenger-hunt/ Winners will be selected from among the correct entries. First, second and third place prizes will include a Ukulele from Beller’s Music and handsome half-zip Road Race sweatshirts from the Manchester Road Race Committee. The contest will end at 5PM on Nov. 18th.
Downtown Manchester businesses are excited about developing a new tradition in conjunction with the Little Manchester Road Race: Road Race Saturday in Downtown Manchester.
Abundant and convenient parking make it easy for Little Manchester Road Race participating families to park Downtown and walk to Charter Oak Park and/or back to the Downtown for post event fun.
