Coffee drinkers are invited to have a “cup ‘o Joe” for a good cause on Saturday, Nov. 18th.
The Sculpture Project is reaching out to the community to help make a life-size bronze sculpture of Joe McCluskey, Olympic medalist and four-time Manchester Road Race winner, a reality by purchasing a cup of coffee at participating businesses on November 18th. This sculpture will be placed along the Manchester Road Race route in the East Coast Greenway parklet at the corner of Highland and Wyllys Streets. The McCluskey sculpture is the first of three planned sculptures of Manchester citizens who have made important contributions to the Manchester community.
Eleven businesses have committed to make a donation to The Sculpture Project from coffee sales on Saturday, November 18. They are:
The Cosmic Omelet, 485 Hartford Rd.
Dunkin’ Donuts, 255 West Middle Tpke.
Dunkin’ Donuts, 318 Adams St.
Fani’s Restaurant, 1015 Main St.

The Sculpture Project Committee, a group of dedicated volunteers under the fiscal stewardship of the Manchester Historical Society, has been hard at work raising funds for this project. The finish line is in sight. A little over one-half of the necessary funds have been secured through a combination of donations and special events. Be a part of “Team Joe”. Help us to cross the “finish line” and meet our fundraising goal by purchasing a coffee at a participating business on November 18th!
